The Traditional Mansion of Petronikolis is located in one of the most beautiful villages of the prefecture of Heraklion, Houdetsi village. A Guest house you can see, from the first moment you enter the room, is made with great care and love!

All spaces both indoors and outdoors, are made of wood and stone. To go to each of the 8 rooms you have to cross a stone alley. The most prominent, however, of this hostel is that almost all the rooms overlook the beautiful natural landscape ( the combination of mountains and rich vegetation sprouting all around).

Very impressive was the door of our room which was made of thick wood with latch lock. Inside the room we had a nice wooden double bed ourselves and a sofa which was a bed for two people, separating the two rooms by a white curtain of thick fabric.

We and our own kitchen which was fully equipped with everything necessary for cooking dinner or breakfast. The extreme levels of cleanlineess impressed me and made me feel like I 'm at home!

Our room had a stone balcony where on one end was a small stone-built barbecue you could use especially during the summer months to organize a "Chouzouri", like at home.

The Traditional Mansion Petronikolis is not just a mansion, but it also runs a small traditional tavern with a fireplace inside, where you will meet the owners of the hostel, Mr. Nikos and his wife Mrs. Evangelia two incredibly kind and hospitable people which immediately created our sense of intimacy and comfort.

There are no words to describe the quality of food we had at this tavern from the hands of Mrs Evangelia. Everything was delicious ... the salad with vegetables from their garden, meat from the pastures of the village, even the wine was their own production as winery is one of the main occupations of the village.

We spent a memorable weekend and would recommend it to anyone who wants to relax, breathe fresh, taste good homemade food and generally enjoy a cordial hospitality by Mr. Nikos and his wife Mrs Evangelia!
