A sunday coffee at the Fillipoi Archeological Area, Kavala

Sundays are lazy. This doesn't mean you shouldn't do stuff you should enjoy or take you out of the ordinary. It could mean having your morning coffee at the Archeological space of Filippoi in Kavala, or any other archeological space around you. You are in Greece after all, ancient ruins grow on their own.
I have to admit that i haven't been to Filippoi since many years and i "had" to go back again just because a good friend came to visit. The way to see things change when your brain starts to mature.
Endless greek light, ancient paths, roman arches, byzantine ruins, the open valley of Filippoi, Egnatia road, all these spots where ancient Thassians, Macedonias and conquerors used to step on.
Our ancestors always chose carefully these unique places they decided to built their most strategic spots, to either show their wisdom or power. Filippi's archeological space has nothing less to offer.
Grab your favorite friend, prepare your coffee and try to find this spot: The stairs connecting the Byzantine church "Vasiliki A' " and the Roman market.
Under the tree's shadow you will envision the ancient city, the market, the benches, the philosophers, the flow of ancient living.
Great place for photographers. Enjoy!
