It's a Sunday sunny morning and I start like another Don Quixote for new travels and adventures.

I intend to meet my creator, Miguel Cervantes. Imagine that I'm off to Spain ... But I 'm going to Nafpaktos! There at the harbor entrance, which forms part of the medieval fortifications of the city, stands the statue of Cervantes, an honorable mention by locals for his participation in the Battle of Lepanto in October 1571 against the Ottoman fleet. The port is the very heart of the city where you can enjoy coffee and food and have fun until late at night.

Going from the port to the old town i am impressed by the narrow cobbled streets and small neat houses with beautiful gardens. At the highest point of my wandering, I reach at the "Clock" and admire the panoramic view of the city and harbor. Passing one by one the terraces of the castle, I get inside it.

It is one of the best preserved castles I've visited. Observatory for the whole region: Patraikos Gulf and the Gulf of Corinth, Patra city and the Ionian sea. And of course my eyes stops at the unique bridge of Rio- Antirriou, from where the view is amazing.

The combination of the giant blocks of the castle and the equally impressive pillars of the bridge, make me feel proud of human achievements and troubled too.

Downhill, just below the entrance of the castle i stop at a beautiful cafe, built in levels, with very beautiful outdoors.

I sit at a table in the cafe's garden, order some coffee, feel the warm spring sun burning my face pleasantly, i admire the breathtaking view, forget every consideration and thank fate that brought me to live in such a beautiful place.
