We wandered aimlessly for hours around the Old Town of Nafplion to finally discover with joy that our hostel is located in the central part of the city. Alongside the sea, in a pedestrian street full of color and makeshift gardens hanging from doors and windows, the street with the historic name - street Otto - we discovered, walking around with our suitcases, the owner of "Amymoni" Pension Lady Demeter Costopoulos.
We went to our rooms - each with a different theme. In our own we has a scooter and a retro trip to the 60s. We were surprised by the excellent style of the room, the quiet comforts, the ultimate holding area (tall wooden hangers instead of wardrobe, shelves and hanging), humor in decorating - all handmade by Italian artist Francesco Moretti.
I loved our little window of the room that opened into the street and immediately flooded with voices, colors and music. A rich collection of books and DVD waited for us downstairs. We couldn't stop photographing every room of the Pension taking lessons and inspiration on décor and aesthetics.
Soon we found the guest house next door, called "Adiandi" Boutique Hotel- just beautiful - , where we waited and our hearty breakfast. Hand pies, hot coffee, chocolate delicacies. We insisted to sit at the tables outside where the lovely sense of a calm Monday morning was so powerful as the city slowly awakens after another busy weekend.
We totally enjoyed Nafplion mainly because of our beautiful stay in "Amymoni" Pension- an ideal starting point for walks in the old town. Tip: A diamond of food is very close to the guesthouse, the restaurant Kakanarakis 1986 where we had a wonderful time.
